Real Madrid Celebrates 36th La Liga Title Win with Blissful Bus Parade
Real Madrid toured the streets of the Spanish capital Madrid on May 12, 2024, on a bus celebrating their 36th title win while rocking white Real Madrid jerseys written CAMPIONES 36.
The team’s remarkable performance throughout the season put them many points ahead of the competition. They secured their victory with four games to spare after Barcelona lost to Girona
The players, the coach Carlo Ancelotti and club president Florentino Perez were given the trophy by RFEF president Pedro Rocha on Sunday, May 12, 2024, in the morning at Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training ground.
On May 12, 2024, the streets of Madrid came to life as the bus toured around the heart of Madrid and fans gathered to celebrate Real Madrid’s triumph.
The Real Madrid Bus Parade
These celebrations had been initially postponed for Real Madrid to play in the semifinal against Bayern Munich and secure a place in the Champions League final. Now that they had booked their spot in the UCL final the celebration was due.
The celebratory bus parade was a vibrant display of passion and pride. Real Madrid players donned their iconic white jerseys but not with player names and numbers this time, instead the jerseys were written CAMPIONES and the number 36 to symbolize the 36th title win.
The players waved to the crowds from the open top of the bus adorned with the La Liga championship trophy. Fans lined the streets, chanting and singing in unison, creating an electric atmosphere. The parade allowed supporters to catch a glimpse of their stars up close.
Jude Bellingham’s Statement
“Thank you for your support and your affection this season. One more big game at Wembley, and we are going to win. Come on Madrid!” Bellingham said addressing the fans in Spanish during the bus tour.
Real Madrid's Remaining Fixtures
Real Madrid met a demotivated Granada due to relegation and beat them 4-0 with a reshuffled starting 11 on Saturday night. They still have three La Liga fixtures remaining including a game at home vs Deportivo Alaves on May 14, 2024, Tuesday night.
Real Madrid's Champions League Ambitions
Despite the celebrations, Real Madrid’s focus remains on the UEFA Champions League. They face Borussia Dortmund in the finals, aiming to bring another cup home. The double dream of domestic and European glory drives the team forward.
The club president Florentino Perez called their 36th title win ‘the league of overcoming’ and said “…we’ll give everything to win the 15th [European Cup].”
